Save big with Home Energy Solutions (HES)
You can save an average of $200 yearly with a HES visit. For a limited time only, pay $75 and get $750 worth of energy assessment and in-home improvements.
You'll not only reduce energy waste and save money from the included light bulbs, blower-door test and air sealing, among other measures, but you'll also learn what kinds of energy efficiency upgrades your home actually needs.

A blower door test
Pinpoints drafts and air leaks. During the visit, a certified energy professional will air seal and caulk them. They'll also install weather stripping and door sweeps.
A duct test
Assesses air leaks within the ductwork system. The technician will seal the important leaks.
Hot water-saving measures
Low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators will be installed.
A recap of the visit
Your approved technician will explain the work that was done in your home, give you an estimated savings per year and recommend follow-up measures. Added bonus: having a Home Energy Solutions assessment qualifies you for additional rebates and financing options on upgrades!

Finds weaknesses, issues and solutions to ensure your home is safe, comfortable and energy efficient.
CFL Upgrade (if needed)
Installation of up to 25 compact fluorescent light bulbs
Incentives for upgrades

How many light bulbs will be replaced?

Bulbs will be replaced in the most high use rooms of your home, typically hallways, living rooms, kitchens, dens, and home offices.Who pays for the CFL Bulbs?
The lighting program and the CFLs are paid for by a grant from the US Department of Energy.What happens to the old bulbs?
The old inefficient bulbs will be taken and recycled.Where can I take a CFL if it breaks or burns out?
You can take your broken and burnt-out CFLs to your local Home Depot, Lowes, Whole Foods, and several other local hardware stores and markets. Also, check to see if your town’s transfer station recycles them.Can I skip this and get a HES visit instead?

Who is eligible?
You are eligible if you are a resident of a participating Neighbor to Neighbor town and have not yet completed a Home Energy Solutions assessment.Why do you ask for access to my utility information?
By providing us with access to utility information, you can receive continuous feedback while your community earns valuable rewards. The information also allows us all to understand our collective impact and report it to the U.S. Department of Energy. This information is kept confidential. We do not look at your home’s individualized energy use, but collective as a town.I’ve heard CFLs contain mercury. Does that make them dangerous?
CFLs do contain a small amount of mercury. By regulation they must contain less than 5 mg of mercury; that’s about a thousand times less than an old (non-electric) thermostat. The mercury is also contained within the spiral. For more details on safe clean up of a broken bulb, contact your Clean Energy Corps representative.
Attend a workshop
Community workshops are a free, fun, and neighborly way to learn about energy use in your home and the Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge. Coming out of a workshop, you’ll have a clear map to energy efficiency and you’ll be able to decide what’s best for your family and home. A typical workshop lasts about one hour.
